Tacos Don Perez

I did not know I could find authentic birria tacos like what I had here at Don Perez. It was nice to meet Destiny, who opened this food truck with her sister-in-law during the pandemic, and I appreciated learning about their idea that they brought to life and the great success they are having with their food truck business. Food was scrumptious and their elote was one of the best I had. Great and efficient service too. I will be frequenting this place regularly for sure.

What a great taco joint! This place is tucked away in the parking lot of a gas station. From the busy street level you'll never know it's there, but it's well worth the detour to stop by and try. The food portions were generous and priced right. I got 3 birria quesatacos and was pleasantly surprised at the size of them and the generous quantity of meat stuffed inside a corn taco shell. They also gave me a complimentary birria consome with which to dip the tacos. Both tacos and consome were super flavorful and well worth the treck to find this hidden gem. They have benches outside if you want to eat right there. With Spanish music playing at just the right level to make you feel festive, but not overly noisy, it provides a great ambiance to enjoy the food. If you are visiting the place, keep in mind there is only one way to access the food trailer: via the Sunoco gas station right next door. My Google Maps told me to drive behind the McDonald's to get there, but that is impossible because a wall blocks any through traffic so you have to go around.

Last night's visit to Tacos Don Perez for dinner was a hidden gem, tucked behind the Sunoco gas station. Although a bit challenging to locate, Tacos Don Perez was well worth it. If you're unsure what to try, let me simplify it for you - GO FOR THE BIRRIA QUESADILLA! The quesadilla was a generous portion, leaving me happily stuffed. It came with a cup of consommé for dipping. The consommé did have a quirky touch with a bit of rice and chickpeas (very unusual). The orange sauce provided a spicy kick that elevated the entire experience. While the weather might not be ideal for outdoor dining now, Tacos Don Perez offers plenty of seating outside. If it's chilly, you can always enjoy your meal in the warmth of your car or take it home. Quesadilla Joke: What is a quesadilla's favorite dance? The salsa!

Food was all SO delicious, and I loved their setup, reminds me of Hawaii. ✨️ Aqua frescas: I got the Jamaica one, which is hibiscus and it was so good! I'll get the tamarind next, that's usually my go to. ✨️ Elote: Both the traditional elote & the hot cheeto one HIT THE SPOT. I liked comparing the both of them and highly recommend ordering one( or both) of these. ✨️Birria quesadilla: The consommé was amasing, perfect for dipping both the quesadillas and the tacos in and paired perfectly with the quesadillas, which was a large portion good for 2 people! ✨️ Carne asada tacos: my usual order for tacos, these were great and I would get again. 3 for $11 ✨️ Tinga de pollo tacos: I was so impressed with these! It's a must try in my opinion, and I loved the consommé with it. ✨️ Tres leches & oreo cake: Both were great, but the traditional tres leches just really hit the spot. Really made the meal all come together. Overall, I was so impressed and I will continue to tell people about them and I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK! (Which will probably be soon) - insta @ SpicyAivy

Was recommended this food truck by my tattoo artist while out in silver spring and they did not disappoint! The food was so good that I didn’t even get a picture!! I ordered the birria tacos and they were so full, flavorful, and filling :) Also ordered the juice pouch! If you like sorrel, THIS IS YOUR GO TO! Ordering was seamless and fast! Great packaging. They also have picnic tables out if you’d like to sit outside and enjoy your food. Plenty of parking as well.

Worth the 35min drive(from Annandale,VA) I saw them on TikTok and had to try it. Esquites- much yum! On point cheesiness and spice. The Jamaica and Tamarindo aguas frescas were delicious and refreshing(just ask for *cold* ones or enjoy over ice. Mangonadas A-MA-ZING! Sweet, spiced, salty and chunks of fresh mango. Can't beat it! Carne Asada taco 5 stars- you can taste the fresh tortillas. But the star today: lengua torta🥰🤤 avocado, cheesy delicious yumminess..... and the most flavourful and tender lengua. YUM!
